Semester-based courses are a great option for students with demanding schedules; these classes run on the same semester schedule as traditional UNL classes, but are available online. Same UNL professors. Same UNL classes. More flexibility.

X Courses

  • Limit one per semester
  • UNL admission required
  • Tests must be taken on the UNL campus
  • Count toward full-time enrollment for financial aid purposes

S Courses

  • UNL admission required
  • Tests are completed at a distance, no need to visit campus
  • Count toward full-time enrollment for financial aid purposes

We offer a variety of courses from which you can select. Your individual situation will determine which course or courses are right for you. You should consult your academic adviser in your home college or department to determine if the course will meet the requirements of your degree.

Fees

University Program and Facilities Fees (UPFF)
In addition to tuition, all enrolled students (except students enrolled only in Distance Education "S", "F", and "X" courses) must pay University Program and Facilities Fees based on their total hours of enrollment each semester. The rates are as listed below:

Semester-based X Courses

- Students are limited to one X course per semester

Semester-based courses count towards full time enrollment for financial aid purposes.
