Student Involvement

Getting involved with other students will enhance your academic experience and make you  more successful in all aspects of your life.  Even as a distance student you may be elgible for an honor society, membership in national student organziations and are able to create a student organization of your own.  Participation in the Online Student Community in My.UNL (Blackboard) is encouraged.  This  community provides the opportunity to interact with other online learners outside of the “classroom”.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
FBLA is one of the oldest national business organizations.  You can join their virtual chapter and gain leadership and good communication skills while networking with colleagues.

This national honor society provides the non-traditional student the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements.  For an application and more information on Pinnacle visit

Facebook group – UNL Distance Students
